Know what to expect before you talk

How Our Network Works

Who will I actually talk to?

Good question. You will talk to an independent roofing provider from the network. That is a local business that does roofing work for a living. It is not Supportgene Roofing, and it is not a call center pretending to be a roofer.

Supportgene Roofing is the connector. The provider is the one who looks at your roof, explains your options, and writes the quote.

What happens on the first call?

Expect a friendly chat. The provider will likely ask:

  • Where is the home, and how old is the roof?
  • What have you noticed, such as leaks, missing shingles, or moss?
  • Has there been a recent storm?
  • Are you thinking about a new roof or a smaller fix?

Then they may set up a time to come see the roof. Availability varies by provider, so ask what the schedule looks like. Many providers can respond quickly, but timing depends on the season and their workload.

What should I have ready?

Folder before phone. A few things in hand make the call smoother:

  • Photos of the problem areas, taken from the ground if you can
  • Notes on when you first saw the trouble
  • Any past roof receipts or warranty papers
  • Your insurer's name, if storm damage is involved

This does not need to be perfect. A short list on your phone works fine.

What should I ask a provider?

You are allowed to ask plenty. Try these:

  • Are you licensed and insured in this state?
  • Can I see a written quote that lists materials and labor?
  • How will you protect my home and yard during the job?
  • What happens if you find hidden rot?
  • Who handles permits?
  • What care does the new roof need once it is done?

That last one matters. A roof that stays clear of moss and debris tends to last longer. Keep it dry.

Am I in control here?

Yes. Always. Getting a call does not commit you to anything. You can compare quotes, take your time, and say no thanks. Costs vary by job, so a written quote is the clearest way to see real numbers for your home.
